The Mud Kitchen

Wanting our kids to experience natural play in our yard, my wife asked me to build them a mud kitchen. I designed and constructed this mud kitchen to include a functional sink, ensuring it can withstand neighborhood play. By sourcing materials and painting PVC pipe to resemble metal, the mud kitchen now perfectly complements our deck, which I also designed.

A year after constructing our mud kitchen, Lester Park Elementary School in Duluth, Minnesota, commissioned me to build a replica for their natural play area.

The words "The Mud Kitchen" were inscribed by my daughter, and I used laser engraving to etch them onto the back panel.
